You have the power to create a morning routine that sets the tone for a brighter, more productive day, and it doesn’t have to be complicated.
Whether you're rushing out the door or working from home, implementing a few simple habits can bring peace, focus, and positivity to your mornings.
Reclaim your mornings and transform your entire day!
1. Embrace the Calm
Take a moment for stillness before you dive into your day. Instead of jumping out of bed in a rush, give yourself a few minutes to shift peacefully from sleep to wakefulness.
This quiet time allows your mind to embrace the day with calm instead of chaos.
I usually set my alarm 5 minutes earlier and just lay in bed adjusting from sleep to awake before getting out of bed to start my day.
2. Journal Your Thoughts
Morning journaling is like a mental cleanse, helping you organise your thoughts, worries, and ideas.
Try a brain dump to get everything out of your head and onto paper, leaving you with a sense of clarity and peace as you move through your day.
This is where I generally struggle to give myself time, I am not a morning person naturally, so if my body is so tired that I actually lie in my adjusting state too long because I just can't get out of bed.
I will then find myself running late, this is the part of my routine that falls off here and there, I am still a work in progress and constantly will be…(that's life we are not meant to be perfect beings).
3. Adopt Relaxation Techniques
Whether it’s a few minutes of meditation, mindful breathing, or a peaceful walk, adding relaxation techniques to your morning can set the stage for a stress-free day.
It’s about choosing what you focus on, instead of letting your thoughts control your day.
I like a moment of Mindful breathing sitting at the edge of my bed before I start my day.
4. Enjoy the Morning Sun
Open your curtains, step outside, and soak up some morning sunlight. The simple act of basking in the sun’s rays can uplift your mood and energise your mind and body for the day ahead.
This step is really a mind shift, if you can, before you jump in the shower open up the curtains to the sun and have a big stretch, you won’t regret it.
5. Prioritise Self-Care
Self-care looks different for everyone. Maybe it’s stretching, sipping your coffee mindfully, or indulging in a good book.
The key is to make time for something that fills you up before the demands of the day take over.
I love to sip my coffee in peace, I like to sit with my hands cupped around my large mug and just contemplate.
6. Practice Gratitude
Start your day by giving thanks for the blessings in your life.
Writing a short gratitude list every morning shifts your focus to abundance and opens the door for better things to flow into your life.
I don’t always get time to write out my gratitude list every morning, but I do sit in my car and recite what I am grateful for, I may write them down when I get to work or in the evenings.
7. Use Positive Affirmations
Words have power. Speak affirmations over yourself each morning, such as, “I am worthy,” “Life is a blessing,” or “I allow myself to grow.”
These affirmations help you cultivate a positive and hopeful mindset that stays with you throughout the day.
I usually do this step when I am in the shower every morning, it helps me start my day on a positive note, I also have affirmations around the house in key please that I read and speak out loud when I see them, like the mirror or the fridge and the front door.
Write some affirmations for yourself and put them up around the house or head on over to my store and get yourself some that you can print out.
